Evaluation of mechanical and tribological behavior of galvanized, galvalume and polyurethane-coated steel sheets

Abstract The current study is performed on three coated steel sheets to evaluate their mechanical and tribological properties. optical micrograph reveals the dark pearlite structure in ferrite matrix, whereas grain size analysis 4.07 μ m mean of ferrite. scratch hardness test better scratch-resistant properties for all experimental samples. Nanoscratch a decrease friction with increasing load from 50 mN 150 colour-coated tensile shows higher YS UTS values (410 MPa 450 MPa, respectively) galvalume sample, followed by galvanized steel. In contrast, ductility (~33%) observed It evident appropriate dry heat resistance that sheets, viz. galvalume, galvanised colour sheet, can withstand 120 °C 24 h.
